EPEAT (Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool) is a global environmental assessment system for electronic and electrical products operated by the U.S. GEC (Green Electronics Council), which provides bronze certification to products that meet all required standards. Hanwha Q CELLS received high praise in items such as product environmental life cycle assessment (LCA)1) management, transparent raw and subsidiary material supply chain management, use of recycled materials, wastewater discharge management at manufacturing facilities, and eco-friendly packaging materials.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) restricts the entry of EPEAT-certified products into the U.S. federal government procurement market when two or more companies in a category each receive EPEAT certification for three or more products.
After obtaining bronze certification for one product in February, Hanwha Q CELLS was able to enter the U.S. procurement market by recently obtaining certification for three additional products.
Hanwha Q CELLS said that in order to strengthen ESG management, it will continue its efforts to supply eco-friendly products by managing and supervising the environmental impact of all processes from the manufacturing process to recycling.
